FOX Broadcasting entered the arena in the mid-80s as direct competition to the other major broadcast networks. When, in 1989, a little show called The Simpsons premiered, it created a dynasty that has yet to be toppled.
FOX is now home to many can’t-miss shows including:
- Scream Queens
- New Girl
And so many more we can’t take up all the space in this overview to cover them all. Plus, FOX is home to a ton of great live sports, including NFL (home of Super Bowl 51 live stream), college football, NASCAR (Daytona 500 and other big races), and more.
So you might be worried about how to watch the FOX live stream if you don’t have access to cable. There are a few options for watching FOX without cable, so let’s take a closer look.
Watch the FOX Live Stream on Sling TV
While broadcast networks are difficult to watch on streaming services, it’s not impossible. Sling TV may be one of the best choices. The FOX live stream is available in select markets across the U.S. including:
- Atlanta GA
- Austin TX
- Charlotte NC
- Chicago IL
- Dallas TX
- Detroit MI
- Gainesville FL
- Houston TX
- Los Angeles CA
- Minneapolis MN
- New York NY
- Orlando FL
- Philadelphia PA
- Phoenix AZ
- San Francisco CA
- Tampa F
- Washington D.C.
While that isn’t a comprehensive list, people in those markets will be able to stream FOX live through Sling TV. That means fans can watch all of FOX’s programming including NFL Football on Sundays and the World Series. If you’re not in these areas, you won’t be able to watch live local TV or sporting events, but you will still be able to watch the shows on demand.
Sling TV is pretty affordable. The Sling Blue package, which includes FOX streaming, is only $25 per month. It can be streamed on pretty much any device, including your computer or smart phone. It works with most of the streaming players on the market like Chromecast, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, and Roku. They sometimes have deals on streaming players from Apple TV and Roku, so check them out to learn more. You can start with a free 7 day trial.

Get FOX Live Streaming with DIRECTV NOW Service
A new streaming service called DIRECTV NOW has been launched by AT&T, and it will get you live channels as well as on-demand, without extra cost or surprise charges.
This comes from the long-standing DIRECTV brand, but you do not need a dish or even a contract to join. The streaming service is all on the internet, so you’ll be able to get FOX wherever you are – even on your laptop!
More great news, there are no mobile restrictions at this time. And, if you are an existing AT&T customer, you get all of the streaming from DIRECTV NOW’s app free of charge! That’s right, it won’t count against your data, no matter where you are or what you are watching on.
DIRECTV NOW (review) is still very new, and will likely be adding more features soon, but we’ll give you a rundown of the service as it stands right now.
Channel bundle pricing starts at $35/month and includes over 60 channels plus on-demand. Some channels may not be available for live streaming at this time, but you will be able to watch them next day.
As a first time customer, if you act quickly, there are some great promotions that can get you more value for your money.
What if we told you that you could get a fresh out of the box Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV stick in exchange for paying a few months in advance? It’s possible if you act quickly. Check their website for the most up to date info.
Another plus, DIRECTV NOW should be smooth switch for those who are attached to the comfortable controls of your standard cable-box remote. The guide for channel surfing is like what you are already used to.

Stream FOX Live on PlayStation Vue
The major competition for live streaming television is PlayStation Vue. It is very similar to Sling TV, with a few differences. Live, local networks are only available in 7 U.S. cities, so you’ll need to check it out to see if you can watch FOX streaming live in your area.
Vue is more expensive overall. It starts at $40 per month in markets with live streaming local channels. It is only available on a handful of devices. And, in spite of having a mobile app for iPhone and iPad, streaming while away from your home network is extremely limited.
Watch FOX Online with Hulu, Netflix, and More
With Hulu, you can watch many of FOX’s flagship shows usually a day or two after it airs. Netflix offers complete seasons usually about a year after the show originally aired on FOX. You will have to search for your favorite shows to know what’s possible.
Watch FOX Without Cable on an Antenna
Lastly, if you want to cut the cord, one of the most affordable options to keep up with broadcast networks is an antenna. They’ve come a long way since rabbit ears and digital antennas are reliable and affordable. If you get reception for FOX in your broadcast area, you can watch their live feed right on your TV.
