How to Watch FOX Live Stream Online without Cable

fox live stream

FOX Broadcasting entered the arena in the mid-80s as direct competition to the other major broadcast networks. When, in 1989, a little show called The Simpsons premiered, it created a dynasty that has yet to be toppled. FOX continues to grow in popularity, and nowadays, people are learning how to watch FOX without cable.

FOX is now home to many can’t-miss shows including:

  • Lucifer
  • Empire
  • Scream Queens
  • Gotham
  • New Girl

And so many more we can’t take up all the space in this overview to cover them all. Plus, FOX is home to a ton of great live sports, including NFL streaming, college football, MLB, NASCAR (Daytona 500 and other big races), soccer (MLS, Confederations Cup, and more), golf (including US Open) and more.

So you might be worried about how to watch the FOX live stream if you don’t have access to cable. Fortunately, there are a few options for watching FOX without cable, so let’s take a closer look.

Watch FOX Online with DIRECTV NOW

A new streaming service called DIRECTV NOW has been launched by AT&T, and it will get you live channels as well as on-demand, without extra cost or surprise charges. The FOX stream is included live in many areas, and DIRECTV NOW is working on rolling it out to new markets. You can check channel availability here.

This comes from the long-standing DIRECTV brand, but you do not need a dish or even a contract to join. The streaming service is all on the internet, so you’ll be able to get FOX wherever you are – even on your laptop!

More great news, there are no mobile restrictions at this time. You can use DIRECTV NOW on mobile devices, streaming players like Roku and Apple TV, computers, and more.

DIRECTV NOW (review) has channel bundle pricing starting at $35/month and includes over 60 channels plus on-demand. Some channels may not be available for live streaming at this time, but you will be able to watch them next day. FOX is live in select areas, and FOX on demand is available everywhere. But even if you don’t live in a market where FOX is available live, you can still watch the sporting events it carries (like local NFL games) live by using your DIRECTV NOW credentials to login to the FOX Sports Go app. It’s a good workaround to get a FOX live stream.

Another plus, DIRECTV NOW should be smooth switch for those who are attached to the comfortable controls of your standard cable-box remote. The guide for channel surfing is like what you are already used to, and the service is very easy to use in general. Plus, it’s contract-free, so you never have to commit long-term!

Sling TV is another great choice to enjoy FOX programming without cable. The FOX live stream is available in select markets across the U.S. including:

  • Atlanta GA
  • Austin TX
  • Charlotte NC
  • Chicago IL
  • Dallas TX
  • Detroit MI
  • Gainesville FL
  • Houston TX
  • Los Angeles CA
  • Minneapolis MN
  • New York NY
  • Orlando FL
  • Philadelphia PA
  • Phoenix AZ
  • San Francisco CA
  • Tampa F
  • Washington D.C.

While that isn’t a comprehensive list (Sling is adding new coverage all the time), people in those markets will be able to stream FOX live through Sling TV. That means fans can watch all of FOX’s programming including NFL Football on Sundays and the World Series. If you’re not in these areas, you won’t be able to watch live local TV or sporting events, but you will still be able to watch the FOX shows on demand.

Sling TV is pretty affordable. The Sling Blue package, which includes FOX streaming, is only $25 per month. It can be streamed on pretty much any device, including your computer or smart phone. It works with most of the streaming players on the market like Chromecast, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, and Roku. They sometimes have deals on streaming players as well (often a free streaming device when you prepay for a few months), so check them out to learn more. You can start with a free 7 day trial.

If the FOX live stream isn’t your primary concern, you can also watch many of the shows on the streaming on demand services like Hulu and Netflix.

With Hulu, you can watch many of FOX’s flagship shows usually a day or two after the episode airs. Netflix offers complete seasons usually about a year after the show originally aired on FOX. You will have to search for your favorite shows to know what’s possible.

Watch FOX Without Cable on an Antenna

Lastly, if you want to cut the cord, one of the most affordable options to keep up with broadcast networks is an antenna.
