Use Sling TV to Stream NFL Playoffs Online without Cable

Enjoy a budget-friendly streaming solution with Sling TV

Sling TV is a popular online streaming service that’s been around for several years now. It’s the most established live streaming service out there, and also one of the most affordable. As low as $25 a month, it’s one of the cheapest options to watch NFL Playoff game online. You can watch on almost any device, so it’s very flexible. It offers an easy way to watch NFL on ESPN, and in select markets, on NBC and FOX, as well. Sling doesn’t have CBS, and coverage of NBC and FOX are more limited – so it’s not a complete solution.

Easy on the Wallet

Sling TV is the cheapest streaming platform that offers live sports on mainstream channels like ESPN. For as little as $25 a month, you can sign up and immediately access live sports. For the most channels, you’ll want to consider some of their larger packages. Check our Sling TV review for more info.

  • Plans from $25 per month
  • Offers ESPN, NBC, FOX in select markets. No CBS coverage
  • Not a complete NFL Playoffs streaming solution at this time
  • Very budget-friendly
  • 25-100+ channels available, depending on your package

Use fuboTV to Live Stream NFL Playoffs Action

Access the streaming service built specifically for sports fans

fuboTV is a service that’s specifically designed with sports fans in mind. It’s a great way to watch soccer, rugby, baseball and more, and a pretty good way to watch NFL. The service does not include ESPN, which is a notable downside, but it offers good coverage of the other NFL Playoffs channels like NBC, FOX and CBS. It’s not a complete solution for the playoffs this year, but it’s worth considering for any sports fan.

Built for Sports

fuboTV offers a lot of great channels for sports fans. All the broadcast networks are included, like FOX, NBC and CBS. FS1, FS2, NBCSN, NBA TV are also offered, as are some niche channels like FOX Soccer Plus, GOLF Network and more. Again, one notable exception is ESPN, which is not included.

  • Designed for sports fans
  • $45 per month

  • 75+ channels available
  • Great for all types of sports
  • Missing ESPN family of networks

YouTube TV Offers a New Way to Watch NFL Online

This newly launched service offers a solid lineup of channels and features

YouTube TV is one of the newest services to offer live TV streaming. It has entered a crowded market full of different cable alternatives. YouTube TV is fairly similar to several services we’ve already discussed, in that it offers around 50 channels for $40 per month. Right now, it doesn’t offer too much to make it stand out from the crowd – but we expect it to continually expand as time goes on.

A Solid Option That’s Getting Better

youtube tv menu

This service definitely had some kinks when it first launched, but it seems to be improving by the day. Now, it offers a viable alternative to Hulu Live TV, DIRECTV NOW, etc. It’s fairly standard in terms of its channel lineup and features, but Google is continually expanding its offerings in this service.

  • $40/mo with no contract
  • Over 50 channels for live streaming
  • Offers ESPN, NBC, FOX, CBS and more
  • Works on most devices
  • Continually expanding

Use CBS All Access to Watch CBS-Hosted Playoffs Games

Get live CBS access for only $6 per month

cbs all access review

CBS All Access is a streaming service designed for fans of CBS shows. It offers on-demand access to 10,000+ episodes of hit CBS shows. So what does this have to do with NFL Playoffs streaming? Well, it was recently announced that CBS will now make all CBS-hosted NFL games available via the CBS All Access service. This is great news for football fans, particularly considering CBS will host several NFL Playoffs games. Right now, this is one of the easiest ways to watch NFL on CBS, although it won’t do you any good for games airing on FOX, NBC or ESPN.

Cheap Access to Hard-To-Find CBS

cbs all access action shot

CBS has typically been a hard network to stream without cable, but CBS All Access (review here) makes it a lot easier. It is available for as low as $5.99 a month, with no contract required.

  • CBS live stream access
  • On-demand library of thousands of CBS tv show episodes
  • No contract
  • Plans from $6/mo
  • No a complete solution to watch NFL Playoffs online
  • Good way to access CBS

This is far from a complete solution for NFL Playoff streaming, as it only covers the CBS-hosted games, but it’s a great method nonetheless. Some people will combine All Access with another service for more selection. There’s a free 7-day trial available, as well, so you can try it out risk-free.

Use PlayStation Vue to Watch NFL Playoffs Online

Vue’s plans offer good value, particularly for families

PlayStation Vue reviewPlayStation Vue is another streaming service that is similar to Sling TV and DIRECTV NOW. It works on most devices, including PlayStation consoles, Roku, Apple TV, etc. Plans start from $44.99 a month, and include local channels like NBC, CBS, and FOX in many markets. ESPN is included in all packages and markets. Read our PlayStation Vue review for details.

Great for Large Households

vue action shot

Vue is a bit pricier than most alternatives. However, for larger households and families, the service offers great value. This is mostly because with Vue, you can watch on up to 5 devices at the same time. That means that the whole family can watch what they want, when they want, where they want, without interfering with other household members.

  • Plans from $45/mo
  • No contract
  • 45+ channels in base package
  • Good for NFL Playoffs live streaming
  • Great for families – 5 simultaneous streams included!

Click here to try a free 5 day trial of Vue!

Watch NFL Playoffs Online Free with a Digital Antenna

Surprisingly, it’s actually possible to catch a NFL Playoffs live stream for free, using a digital antenna. Most games will air on NBC, FOX, or CBS, which are all over-the-air networks. Using a good quality digital antenna, you’ll be able to catch these games live with no subscription required. ESPN-hosted games will NOT be available via antenna, however.

The channels you can pick up with an antenna really depend on where you live, as well. Some people may get local affiliates for all the big broadcast stations, while others won’t get anything. Again, this is not a complete football playoffs streaming solution, but hey – it’s free!

Catch Up with On-Demand Games via NFL Game Pass

NFL Game Pass is the NFL’s official streaming service. It’s a solid way to catch up on games you may have missed. Basically, games are uploaded to the service shortly after the game airs. So, you won’t be able to watch a NFL Playoffs live stream with this service, but instead, you’ll catch the games on-demand at your convenience. See our NFL Game Pass review for details.

(International) Use NFL Game Pass International to Stream Playoff Games Live

If you’re an NFL fan living outside of the USA, you can use the international version of NFL Game Pass. The difference with this version vs. the USA version is that NFL Game Pass International lets you stream games live. So, this is a true NFL Playoff live stream option.

The NFL Playoffs are sure to be as epic as ever. If you’re like me, you can’t wait for the action to begin. Hopefully, you now feel fully prepared to watch the NFL Playoffs online without cable!

Thanks for writing this! Just got done signing up for DIRECTV Now & CBS All Access, and I’m about to cancel Sling. $41 essentially for access to all NFL games as well as a better channel lineup than my cable provider offers anywhere near that price range.
