Netflix made news recently when they announced that he highly anticipated period drama Frontier was renewed for a second season before the first season even debuted.

Fans have been wondering when the series would drop in the US, and we finally have an answer. The six-episode first season of Frontier will premier in the US on Netflix on January 20, 2017.

Set in 1700s Canada, the drama follows warring groups attempting to control the area’s fur trade, and stars Jason Momoa from Game of Thrones as Declan Harp, the ruthless but charismatic fur kingpin. Newly arriving Europeans are at odds with native aboriginals over the country’s valuable resources, and the only answer is often blood.

The series has already debuted in Canada, where it was very well received by both fans and critics.
