Netflix Now Allows You to Download Programming for Offline Viewing

It’s something we’ve all been waiting for. And it was a perk Amazon Prime held over Netflix… but no more. It’s official. Netflix users can now download both series and movies. And that comes at no extra cost across the entire world!

According to the company news release, Netflix was well-aware of the clamoring for being able to watch on the go with no WiFi access and without taking the hit to your mobile data. Now, all you have to do is click the newly added download button and you can have the program for later.

The new feature is on all plans and available on both iOS and Android phones.

The only thing that isn’t clear at this point is exactly how much content is available for download.

“Many of your favorite streaming series and movies are already available for download, with more on the way, so there is plenty of content available for those times when you are offline. For example, Orange is The New Black, Narcos and The Crown are available for download today.”

We’ll need to dig deeper and see what the restrictions are; however, at first glance, this is a great step in the right direction!
