Just a few days after Netflix debuted their new Marvel series Luke Cage, they’ve announced when fans will get their next Marvel debut. All 13 episodes of the first season of Iron Fist will be available on March 17, 2017.
Iron Fist tells the story of Danny Rand, a billionaire monk who returns to New York City after being presumed dead for 15 years and tries to reconnect with his past and his family. Criminals have corrupted the city since he’s been gone, but with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the jaw dropping power of the Iron Fist, he’s out to reclaim the city he knew.
We know that Finn Jones (you know his as Loras Tyrell on Game of Thrones) will be Danny Rand/Iron Fist, and that Jessica Henwick (Nymeria Sand on Game of Thrones) will also be a regular.
This show is just another in a line of Marvel superhero shows from Netflix, following Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Luke Cage. The Netflix/Marvel collaboration is expected to continue, because 2017 is also slated to bring The Punisher, a Daredevil spinoff series, and The Defenders, which is sort of a “team up” series among several Marvel heroes, plus a second season of Jessica Jones and a third of Daredevil.
