YouTube TV (Limited Availability)

YouTube TV Review

YouTube TV is a new addition to the list of PlayStation Vue competitors, as the service just launched in Spring 2017. The service is brand new, and promises to join the ranks of solid PlayStation Vue alternatives. Right now, however, the service is very limited, as it’s only available in 5 cities: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

If you live in one of these areas, you can get YouTube TV for only $35 per month. You can share the account with multiple people, as well. It works on most devices, and offers lots of great channels like USA, ESPN, FS1, FX and much more. Local channels like CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX are also available in select markets. See our YouTube TV review to learn more.

YouTube TV is a brand new service, and as of right now it’s not really one of the viable PlayStation Vue competitors simply because it’s only available in a small part of the country. With that said, it’s backed by the monstrosity that is Google, so this service will likely expand quite rapidly. Early reports say that the service is not quite worth the $35 per month price tag, but it’s likely that new channels will be added as the service expands. We’ll keep you posted!

For those who do live in an area where YouTube TV is offered, there’s currently a free trial available.

PlayStation Vue Alternatives: Bottom Line

There’s a lot of really valuable PlayStation Vue competitors, and the industry will continue to get more and more competitive as time goes on. This is great news for cord-cutters, as more selection will create more options and lower prices.

Right now, the main PS Vue alternatives are DIRECTV NOW and Sling TV. These are the two most established services, which offer the best value for the money. fuboTV is a great choice for sports fans, as well. There are also a couple new services on the way, like the Hulu Live service, Vidgo, and more. We’ll keep this guide updated as new services are released.
