For months, the biggest knock on PlayStation Vue was the limited device support. Up until now, you could only sign up for Vue with a PlayStation or Amazon Fire device. However, as of today, that has officially changed.
According to a press release from Sony, Vue is now available on Roku set top boxes as well as Roku TVs. This is another great way to watch live TV on Roku.
“Starting today, PlayStationtmVue becomes accessible to even more users as the internet-based live TV service expands to Roku(r) devices, one of the most popular streaming media players in the U.S.,” the release reads.
But that’s not all. While Vue already supported iOS devices, it looks as if it’s coming to Android mobile devices as well.
“Additionally, the PlayStation Vue mobile app is coming to Android smartphone and tablets next week.”
PlayStation Vue Gets Serious about Contending with Sling TV
Sling TV was a clear favorite to the average cord cutter who didn’t use Amazon Fire TV set top boxes. However, with the addition of Roku, Vue is now a serious threat to Sling. Interesting that this announcement directly follows Sling TV’s Apple TV announcement. The question is now, when will Vue launch on Apple TV?
