Sling TV expands free content section to desktop browsers

By January 31, 2020 No Comments

If you’re not familiar with it already, Sling TV has a free content section that gives users access to over 1,000 movies and almost 4,000 television shows, and allows them to subscribe to pay-per-view events or premium channels like Showtime, STARZ or NBA League Pass without having a Sling TV subscription. This service was rolled out last year to Android, Roku and Android TV users – but now its available for web browsers.

Starting today, you can simply visit watch.sling.com through a browser to access the free content. Once you’re there, you’ll see a “Free Movies” and a “Free Television” section. Just click, and you can start watching within seconds. Of course, the content is reasonably limited. But given that it’s completely free, it’s worth checking out. A quick glance at the television section showed favorites like Grounded For Life, Forensic Files, Third Rock From The Sun, and Shameless. Amityville, The Illusionist, and several films in the Ernest franchine were among the available movies.

If you want to sign up for a premium channel, click on “Add Channels & More” at the top. You will need to at least set up an account at this point, and pay for your channel, but you don’t need a Sling TV subscription.
